And if you can stand the license, Dragonball Z3 had some great jazz/techno/rock material (Z1 and Z2 did as well, but they butchered the soundtrack release, so it's hard to recommend over the gamerips). Capcom Fighting Evolution is cool, but it was really short. Really hardcore techno/rock stuff (It's hard to pin down what style that one was). One cool recent one was the King of Fighters Maximum Impact 1 soundtrack. I'd be glad to get a decent game, much less a decent soundtrack.

I still listen to a lot of fighting game soundtracks (everything Guilty Gear, the King of Fighters and Garou arranged albums, the Capcom VS series soundtracks, Battle Arena Toshinden 2), but the genre's just f-ing dead right now. I've heard it off and on during gameplay and a piece or two here and there("Moonlit Wilderness" from the BSC), but I'd never sit down and listen to it seriously. Never been a Tekken fan, but it's probably good stuff by techno standards. Not much to say about Virtua Fighter music as a whole.Some catchy stuff in the early goings (1 and 2), but it's been really generic and unmemorable material since then.
